White plate with blue mice.
When a baby is born in Holland everyone is treated to a rusk with candy-coated anise seeds (mice). When it's a boy, the candy-coating is blue, and for a girl, pink. It's really yummy! The use of anise seed dates back to the 17th century. It is believed to stimulate milk production in the new mother.
